For the fourth or fifth MLK Day in a row, Elly is running the Martin Luther King Day Event at Hagerstown Community College and, as usual, she has recruited me to steer people to the stage from behind the curtain.
This year we have the Ambassador from the country of Cameroon attending, and this is causing all kinds of brouhaha… a special reception afterwards, an attachment of 11 Cameroonians backing up the Ambassador, a flag from Cameroon that must be hung, etc. And they are going to sing the Cameroon National Anthem in French and English.
Elly says she thinks there are nine students from Cameroon at HCC, which is a considerable number for foreign students at a Community College.
I have to get over there now, so I’ll be back to the blog later.
